I regularly speak to startup agency owners and freelancers about what they feel they need to do to take their agency to the multi-six figure revenue mark.

Usually, their head is full of noise.

They have watched too many videos on YouTube or have bought a $997 a course that said this is all easy… just copy and paste these scripts and Bob’s your uncle!

Let us look at this rationally for a second…

If all it took was a few hundred emails to build a 6-figure agency, then everybody going through a course would end up being a successful agency owner, right?

I know most people who do a course do take some action. Maybe they will send 100 emails or message 20 businesses on Instagram.

The activity does not work out and they move onto the next shiny object or script that will get them a high paying client.

Let me be straight with you…

Someone living in a rural county may have great luck and they will sign up all of the businesses in their local chamber of commerce because they are the only marketer in town.

On the flipside, a marketer in a larger city will be up against 100s of other faceless marketers bombarding businesses daily, trying to help them with their SEO, PPC or Facebook Ads.

The agency business is not a get-rich-quick opportunity. It is very much a get-rich-slow scheme.

It requires patience, perseverance and most importantly work.

You probably have all the knowledge required to build a successful agency.

What you do not have is your own process to apply this knowledge to get the outcomes you want.

A course may give you a process and some copy and paste scripts, but it will not fine-tune the process to your own individual needs.

This can only be achieved by working with someone who may be a Consultant or Mentor.

Building a business is a series of mini-battles, with victories and losses. The key thing is to reflect on the lessons learnt and improve your process.

Without some sort of a Mentor, it can be challenging for many aspiring agency owners to work out their next steps when things do not work out.

When I am working with someone 1 on 1, I usually do not teach them anything radically new.

Where I do add value is in helping you to create your own roadmap, analyze what is working and what is not, and guiding you on the right path.

A bit like the North Star guides a Captain of a ship through a dark night. You are still in control of your ship.
